Artist Statement:

This is a brief narrative project that I made with the intent of having a magical element in a normal setting. Where the main character, a normal human, get's wrapped up in a magic world that they can't comprehend. I wanted to do this through the writing of the characters and through some use of the text that tries to tie the user into the narrative more. Through the writing as well I wanted this to be fun but also have some suspense with some of the passages. The suspense is added through the use of fading in text after a brief period of waiting, such as the "Except one" passage.

How does the character get involved in a magic world? - In that sense, you're getting exactly what it says on the tin, they uncover a spell book in the public library of their university.  After finding it? What happens next is up to you.

How does this magic manifest itself? - With the affordances of the Twine engine and my beginning knowledge of it's use, I elected to use a few items that would make it feel magical. Such as floating text animations and other kinds in order to make these passages stick out when compared to other more ordinary components in the work.

How is this fun? - I wanted to introduce the character of the Librarian and the player character themselves with some interesting dialogue down one option. Where as the fun might come from the tension should you choose a different path.
